I’ve had a few Bonsai over the years and I’m now attempting to grow my own from some Jade plant clippings. Restricting the root size is the most controlling method, and then you sculpt the tree shape via wiring and limit size by trimming new growth appropriately… They’re amazing little things.
Bonsai. I want one. I was always curious to see how they keep these gorgeous trees so miniature, so I did a little research. Apparently you can grow a bonsai from almost any woody-stemmed tree or shrub, and they stay so small because you confine it to a little bowl. It’s weird thinking about manipulating a living thing into an artistic design, but interesting all the same! It’s another one of those things I am looking forward to doing in the future.
